How to flirt over text

Verdict first

Flirting is playful tension, not compliments on repeat. Tease her a little, show interest without begging, and keep it light enough that she wants to play back.

Tease, don't insult

Light teasing shows confidence. Pick something harmless — her taste in music, her competitive streak — and push a bit. If she pushes back, you're flirting.

Twenty minutes to reply. Playing hard to get, or just really bad at your phone?
Pineapple on pizza? I'm going to have to reconsider everything

Compliments that land

"You're beautiful" is nice and forgettable. Compliment a choice she made, the way she thinks, her humor:

I like the way your brain works. Slightly unhinged, but I like it
You're dangerously good at comebacks

Build tension slowly

Talk about the date as if it's already happening — playful guesses about how it'll go:

Fair warning, I'm very competitive at mini golf. You might not survive this date

What kills it

Going sexual too fast, paragraphs of feelings, and sulking when she doesn't flirt back. Match her pace. If she isn't playing, change the topic.

Verdict

Playful, specific, and always one step closer to meeting in person.
