How to ask for a second date

Verdict first

Ask within a day or two, be direct, and suggest something different from the first date. The second date is where it gets real — don't let it drift.

When

Ideally you hint at it on the first date and lock it in the next day. Momentum is on your side — a week of texting between dates lets things cool off.

What to say

Direct and specific, with a callback to the first date:

Had a great time last night. I owe you that ramen place I kept talking about — Saturday?
Round two? This time I'm choosing, and I'm choosing bowling

Make it different

If the first was drinks, make the second an activity — a walk, a market, cooking, mini golf. Doing something together builds more connection than sitting across a table again.

If she's unsure

If she hesitates or dodges, don't push. One clear invite, an easy out, and the ball is hers.
